Cheniere Vying for P&GJ Award for Maintenance Technology
Pipeline & Gas Journal Awards judges recently narrowed down a significant number of nominations and announced finalists for its upcoming event Nov. 17.
The program honors the midstream’s leading innovations and outstanding personal contributions to the pipeline industry.
Among the finalists in the Best Advance in Maintenance Technology is Cheniere’s Ultrasonic Meter Fleet Diagnostic Monitoring Program, which addresses the failure of measurement equipment.
The technology helps avoid problems concerning volume and energy accounting, and the additional workload created for field and office personnel, particularly when failures go undetected for more than a short duration.
Early detection of problems allows for efficient dispatch of field technicians for repair of equipment, repair prior to actual failure, or repair as soon as possible after failures.
This also increases overall efficiency of measurement and volume accounting processes and shortens cycle times to monthly close by ensuring that measurement data is accurate, thereby decreasing or eliminating time and effort required to correct and estimate erroneous volumes caused by equipment failures.
Providing real-time data at fleet level gives support engineers an enhanced ability to monitor measurement equipment as frequently as needed and apply system level reliability engineering principles leading to improvements to overall system reliability.
