Fluxys, OGE, Wintershall Dea Partner for CO2 Transport from Southern Germany to Belgian Hubs
(P&GJ) — Fluxys Belgium, Wintershall Dea, and OGE are joining forces to create a CO2 corridor transporting emissions from Southern Germany to Belgium's developing CO2 export hubs for storage in the North Sea reservoirs.
Fluxys and OGE will be responsible for the development of the necessary infrastructure to transport the CO2 by pipelines in Belgium and Germany, respectively, ensuring the interoperability of a cross-border system. Wintershall Dea will oversee customer engagement in Southern Germany and network design.
The collaboration leverages Fluxys' CO2 infrastructure and exit hubs in Belgium, offering a competitive and short-distance solution for decarbonizing industries in Southern Germany and Belgium. The partners aim to transport 30 million tonnes of CO2 by 2030.
