(P&GJ) — While the investigation into who deliberately blew up Nord Stream continues, the operator of the previously functional first line appears to be taking a serious look at how it will seal and empty the pipeline before more damage occurs.

(P&GJ) — This could be one of the most significant congressional years for the pipeline industry in decades. Besides the start of work on the next pipeline safety bill, the House passed a big energy bill (H.R. 1) by a vote of 225-204 with four Democrats joining Republicans in the affirmative.

(P&GJ) — U.S. midstream companies would be hard-pressed this year to approach the record earnings that many achieved in 2022, but the sharp decline in oil and natural gas prices from last year’s highs hasn’t blunted their expansion efforts.

(P&GJ) — It has gotten to be a familiar yet no less frustrating story for midstream operators in the Marcellus-Utica region: pipeline takeaway capacity remains bottlenecked and production from the gas-rich region continues to stagnate.

(P&GJ) —Traditionally, most gas gathering lines were small-diameter, low-pressure systems traversing sparsely populated areas, posing little risk from a business, safety, and environmental perspective. More recently, the volume of gas transported through gathering systems has increased significantly due to the advancements in horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing techniques.

(P&GJ) — We are at a crossroads, both in the U.S. and globally, as the world works to develop new sources of energy. As the next generation of energy is becoming reality, it is critical to acknowledge the vital role that the current pipelines and associated assets will play in transporting and storing these commodities.

(P&GJ) — Pipeline technology specialist STATS Group has been commissioned to complete a range of work in the Asian Gulf that is believed to include a record subsea intervention on a 56-inch pipeline.

(P&GJ) — Ball valves, gate valves, globe valves, butterfly valves, check valves and valve assemblies: all these are common and critical components in the oil and gas industry. Their job of regulating hazardous fluid flow in pipelines and piping systems underscores the importance of keeping them in peak operating condition.

The EastMed-Poseidon pipeline would connect several gas fields offshore Israel to Italy and could be in service by 2027. The pipeline would likely have a capacity of 353 Bcf (10 Bcm) annually.
