Savage To Offer Crude Rail Transloading Services At Utah Terminals
Savage announced the expanded service offerings at its terminals in Price and Salt Lake City, UT to include crude by rail transloading services and associated car storage, on a manifest basis. These terminals will provide Uinta Basin crude, bound for key refinery markets, with access to rail transportation.
The Savage terminal in Price is the first facility in the area to offer crude-by-rail origination services on the Union Pacific Railroad. Together with the Savage Bingham & Garfield in Salt Lake City, these Savage terminals will have capacity to transload 9,000 bpd.
The Savage terminals in Price and Salt Lake City can provide railcar switching, railcar spotting, transloading, truck transportation and car storage related to crude handling for rail transport. The terminals will be fully operational for manifest services. As market demand increases, unit train capacity and crude tank storage will be considered. The transloading services and rail line connections offered at these terminals provide crude coming from the Uinta Basin with flexibility to be delivered to the East Coast, West Coast and Gulf Coast refinery markets.
