What's New

Honeywell

Honeywell introduced new multigas monitoring solutions that work seamlessly together to help keep workers safe and confident while in hazardous areas. The Honeywell BW platform incorporates a slim profile, Bluetooth-enabled configuration with an infrared lower explosive limit sensor for two-month battery runtime and fast response. Options include a fixed-life, two-year, four-gas detector for the hazards that workers face most often. It is the industry’s smallest, lightweight, personal multigas monitoring wearable. The BW is a serviceable four-gas detector with a choice of six sensors; and it has a serviceable five-gas detector with an LCD display and choice of more than 15 sensors. www.honeywell.com

Matrox

Matrox Imaging updated its Design Assistant X, the flowchart-based vision software, with an integrated development environment (IDE) to provide an intuitive way to develop vision applications without writing traditional program code. The latest release delivers a range of additions and enhancements, including interfaces to additional 3-D sensors, expanded image classification, image capture from CoaXPress cameras, and expanded support for working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs). The device interfaces with the new Matrox AltiZ 3D profile sensors, as well as 3-D sensors from third-party manufacturers. The software works seamlessly with these devices to process and analyze depth maps. www.matrox.com/imaging/en/

Esco Tool

Esco Tool offers a portable, inner-diameter clamping pipe beveller with a variable-speed electric motor for use on-site. The Prepzilla Millhog Clamping End Prep Tool features an electric motor with increased power and variable speeds from 9 to 31 rpm for continuous use and faster beveling. Equipped with a three-blade holder that can bevel any angle, face and bore simultaneously, the tool can produce precision end preps on hard stainless steels and highly alloyed pipe. It only requires one mandrel and eight sets of clamps for its entire range. The tool is designed for pipe ranging from a 1.575-inch (40-mm) inner diameter (ID) to an 8.62-inch (219-mm) outer diameter (OD). It has motor specifications of 230 V, 3.08 hp (2,300 W), 50 to 60 Hz, and has dual-opposed tapered roller bearings to support the motor. www.escotool.com

Huntingdon

Huntingdon Fusion Techniques (HFT) introduced peripheral sealing plugs for heavy-duty applications, such as immersion in chemicals or exposure to high temperatures. Pipe stopper sealing plugs are manufactured to suit pipe ends or orifices with a 17-inch (432-mm) diameter, extending to 96 inches (2,400 mm). They can also be doubled up for better sealing and more stability inside the pipe, holding back more pressure than the single versions. The plug provides a number of tightening points on its circumference, so the seal can be improved locally, particularly in cases of ovality. The plug features a 2-inch (50-mm) center stem threaded to accept a British standard pipe (BSP) screw cap when not in use for draining, pressure testing or purging. www.huntingdonfusion.com

Elma

Elma Electronic developed a rugged power system for use in mission-critical field applications deployed in harsh environments. The RP24 Power System incorporates reinforced insulation to meet IEC Class II requirements, eliminating the need for a ground connection. The compact size of the 1,000-watt AC/DC power supply makes it convenient as a 24-volt DC supply for field-deployed radios and other communications equipment, as well as to supply auxiliary DC power to air and ground vehicles in harsh environments. In addition to full load operation from -35° C to 60° C at an altitude of 11,000 feet (3,500 m), the IP67-rated unit also provides protection from electromagnetic pulse (EMP), overvoltage, shock and vibration. The RP24 Power System meets the drop test requirements for MIL-STD-810G as well as MIL-STD-461G for HEMP (high-altitude electromagnetic pulse) and lightning overvoltage protection, thanks to the built-in ground bolt. www.elma.com

Koike

Koike released the FiberPro CNC, a laser-cutting machine with a Precitec cutting head, as well as a direct-drive helical rack and pinion. The machine features ISO 230-2 machinery standard specifications and the option of a 2-kW or 4-kW laser. The FiberPro is Class 1 safety-rated and designed with safety viewing glass to enable the operator to view the machine as it cuts for optimal protection. The equipment is easy to set up and requires minimal maintenance, allowing users to focus solely on output. Each machine comes with a two-year warranty and free phone support for life. www.koike.com
